No Bake Ideas
People love to bake, but sometimes like during the holidays, people go into overdrive! Sometimes though, it seems like you’re spending all your time in the kitchen, instead of actually celebrating with everyone else! On that note, I’m going to share some no bake dessert ideas so that you can get out of the kitchen faster, so you can spend more time with your family.
Have you ever heard of a pretzel salad? It includes pretzels, whipped topping and Jell-O. Did you know there are also no-bake cheesecakes? Rather than baking your cake to set it, you chill it in the icebox. You can easily customize your cheesecake with blueberry or cherry topping.
When searching for recipes, look for “no-bake” recipes. I’m going to share an easy no-bake cookie recipe with you shortly.
Don’t forget family favorites like ice-cream desserts. It doesn’t have to be all about pie, cakes and cookies. Get some ice cream and add fruit, syrup or sprinkles to it. Take a break from the kitchen, and make a quick treat for everyone to enjoy.
Enjoy baking, but also take time out so you can enjoy time OUT of the kitchen too!
Here’s an easy no-bake peanut butter cookie recipe to get you started:
You’ll need:
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup evaporated milk
2 1/2 cups of Rice Krispies type cereal
Combine your sugar, milk and peanut butter in a medium saucepan. Bring the ingredients to a boil, then remove from heat. Be sure to stir it while it’s mixture is heating up.
Mix in your cereal, thoroughly covering it.
Spoon drop the cookies onto wax paper. Cool before serving. This recipe will make between 2-3 dozen cookies, based on the size of the cookies.
