Kids and Cookies

Kids - cookies, the words seem to go together like peanut butter and jelly. I remember growing up, and how excited I would get when my mom would bake cookies. Sometimes if we stayed over my grandmom’s house, my aunt would make cookies, and we’d try to sneak some of the chocolate chip cookie batter! Cookies can bring back great memories. In fact, just smelling cookies baking can be a powerful reminder of your childhood.

If you have kids, making cookies with them is a great way to bond together, as well as cook up some delicious memories for your child. They’ll remember the days when they got to bake cookies with mom. Whether you start with simple slice and bake cookies with a very young child, or use a recipe that you grew up with, it will be a fun experience. Make it about the time together to do something as a team, and let your child participate. Don’t worry about the mess now, you can always clean it up later. The time you create now will cement great memories for life.

I remember pouring the chocolate chips into the batter, and how I felt special when I got to keep a couple aside to nibble on. Special times can be simple moments.

The best part of making cookies together is that in just a little bit of time, you get to taste the results. How fun! It’s a baking project, and there are delicious rewards at the end. Kids, cookies, they go perfect together! They even make special cookbooks for kids just learning how to cook. What a fun gift for your new little chef. Their very own cookbook! I remember I had this small cookbook when I was growing up. It was made especially for kids, and I loved that thing. It had easy recipes, but also made it really easy to understand.
